• It is the lowest grossing movie ever to be nominated for Oscars
best picture..
• Chazelle loosely based the film off his experiences as a jazz drummer
in high school.
• Chazelle wanted Miles Teller (Andrew) to authentically exhaust himself
when intensely drumming/rehearsing, and therefore would not yell “cut!”.
• Ben Affleck served as director, co-writer and portrayer of the main
character. He resultantly directed his own performances in editing..
• Jeremy Renner (who portrayed Jem) was able to do a Charleston accent
for the film by interacting with actual bank robbers from the area.
• The film was originally four hours long; studio executives ordered
for it to be cut down to two hours and ten minutes, but Affleck is
still pleased with the final product.
• During the first six seasons, every two would be about a different
“generation” i.e. a different cast of main characters. The seventh season,
Skins Redux, follows former stars of the show.
• The series was originally going to have a feature-length film after
the sixth season, but the seventh season happened instead.
• In season 1, there is an episode about the cast going on a school
trip to Russia. However, it was actually filmed in Lithuania, with
Lithuanian actors and producers taking part.
